What is Image Compression?

Image compression is the process of reducing the file size of an image while maintaining its visual quality.

This involves removing unnecessary data or optimizing the image format to make it more efficient for use without compromising its clarity.

How Does the Image Compressor Work?

Our tool uses advanced compression algorithms to optimize your images in less than seconds. Here’s how it works:

File Analysis: The tool evaluates the uploaded image to determine unnecessary data.
Smart Compression: The image is resized & optimized without reducing its resolution or visual appeal.

What is the size limit for uploading images?

There is no size limit for uploading images, however the larger the image the more time it will take & more memory it will use to reduce your image size.

If you are compressing many images with very large size, it’s advised not to upload all of them at once.

What are the supported formats ?

We currently support WEBP, PNG, JPG, & JPEG. We are working to add more formats to the image compressor tool.

How to compress unsupported image formats ?

To compress an image with a file type that is not currently supported, simply use our image conversion tool and convert your image to one of the supported formats (PNG, JPG, JPEG, or WEBP), then compress your converted image.

After that you can reconvert your compressed image to its original format if necessary.

Does compressing an image multiple times reduce its size further?

No, trying to compress the same image more than once won’t reduce the image size more. Even if you tried different tools online the difference is usually unnoticeable in my experience.

However, you can try to convert your image to other formats that are known to have smaller file size.

For example, from PNG to WEBP or from JPG to JPEG to reduce its size even more.
